Worship at Prince of Peace
Advent comes from the Latin word adventus, for “coming.” It is the beginning of the liturgical year in the church. In our church, this celebration of “coming” refers to the return of Christ, yet we also spend this time remembering Christ’s first coming during Christmas.
Advent is also known for its season of light. Traditionally, families would light an advent wreath with four candles, three purple and one pink (there maybe an optional fifth white candle in the middle). These four candles represent the four weeks of advent leading up to Christmas.
We invite you to join in this preparation through spending time in Worship on both Wednesday and Sundays, Connect through our advent meals, devotionals, and small groups, and sign up to Serve on Christmas Eve.
We pray you and yours are filled with the Holy Spirit this advent season as we eagerly await the return of Jesus and celebrate the incarnation of Jesus Christ on Christmas.

Advent is the beginning of the Church year and traditionally it has been marked as a time where Christians intentionally spend time in God's Word reflecting on His teachings. At Prince of Peace, we value this practice and encourage all children, youth, and Adults to take a devotional to read during advent. You are also encouraged to take a few extra to share with your friends, coworkers, classmates, and neighbors.
These free devotionals are located in the back of our Worship Center near the entrance to the Fellowship Center. Please take as many as you would like to share.
