Mission Crafts Ministry

What is the Mission Crafts Ministry? It’s a ministry by a group of ladies that keep each other covered in prayer and who knit and crochet warm winter scarves and cotton dishcloths. The scarves are typically distributed to various local area organizations that serve the homeless but also to the Denton State Supported Living Center (formerly known as The Denton State School), where they place them in their school store for the residents to purchase. The dishcloths are placed in each of the Holiday Meal Bags that Prince of Peace distributes each Thanksgiving and Easter.

Want to participate but don’t know how to knit or crochet? No worries! We’ll teach you…no needles or yarn needed, just bring your willingness to learn and serve and we’ll provide the rest. We just ask that you give us a heads up to let us know you’re coming.

Not interested in participating but have unused yarn, needles, or the means to donate money to help us purchase supplies? Mission Crafts does not have a budget of their own. All our supplies come from our own pockets and from donations of yarn from our community and beyond. We accept yarns of all types and colors. If you’d like to make a financial donation, please speak with Sandy Ericksen directly.

When does Mission Crafts meet? We meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays of August through May, excluding holiday weeks, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Be sure and contact Sandy Ericksen before attending for the first time so she can walk you through our first visit orientation, our notification process and other important details.
