We have a vibrant children and youth ministry that is always needing volunteers. We need teachers & substitute teachers, help at our Welcome Desk, in our nursery and with our toddlers. We are also looking for volunteers to help with confirmation and with special events such as VBS.

Children Volunteer Opportunities

Our KidZone ministry has many needs for volunteers of all ages! Help is needed at welcoming folk, teaching, in our nursery, and with special events like our VBS. We also need dads who are willing to step in and, help with the heavy lifting like tables, chairs, or supplies, or helping at special events. Are you a teenager and love working with kids? We have opportunities for you to work with the kids of POPLC.
All volunteers must be able to pass a background check.

Here are a few areas; contact us if you have interest in helping out in any of these areas or if you’d like more information:

• KidZone Welcome Desk: Provide families with a friendly face, hello, and an extra hand for Ms. Jessica on Sunday mornings. In addition, we ask that you learn how to work the check-in stations. Serve as little as one service a month.
• Nursery & Toddlers: Come into play, hold, and rock our youngest POPLC members while mom & dad can take a moment to jump into the Word. Serve as little as one service a month.
• Sunday Morning Kidz Teachers and Substitute Teachers: Walk with our kids of POPLC as they learn to dive into the Bible. We also need substitute teachers to honor our teachers when they need a Sunday off. A heart to serve when you receive a last-minute text, call, or email to fill in for our teachers. We like our teachers to serve for a year at a time. We find constancy with kids helps them open up to build relationships, and they are eager to return.
• Special Events Team: Step in to help with Kidz Christmas Program, Family Events, Palm Sunday, Eggstravaganza, and other events as we brainstorm, prepare, and pull off events as a team.
• Prep Team: We also need volunteers to help us as needed prepare for events, big Sunday projects, Kidz Worship Bags, and/or Milestones.
• VBS: Vacation Bible School touches the lives of many of the families within our community, and we can’t do it without volunteers. We do this just once a year!
• Milestones: POPLC purposefully steps into the lives of our families at specific points within their faith walk. Help us plan and execute these times with either the Church or the school.
• Faith@Home Messages: Every week we give the POPLC community a chance to see how the conversation of faith occurs within the home. With the help of Ms. Jessica, record a 2-3 minute video with your family.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Relationships are key to helping teens encounter our risen Lord Jesus. Youth are in need of caring adults who want to take the time to get to know them as a person. As middle and high schoolers develop, they look for identity in the sports they play, activities they participate in and the grades they get at school. We know that our God sees much more than an athlete, actor, or student. God sees their heart, and we need adults that truly care for the hearts of our students as they engage in the faith through Bible studies, fellowship, and fun.
Youth Ministry meets twice a week, Sundays from 9:15 – 10:15 am, and Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.
Adult leaders are needed for both meeting times, weekly or bi-weekly.

Confirmation Volunteer Opportunities

7th and 8th grade students meet weekly to grow together and walk in God’s word. This ministry helps students as they learn more about who God is as they step forward in confirming their faith. Volunteers have an opportunity to help build relationships, mentor students, and share their faith journey along the way. Sunday morning volunteers help create a welcoming atmosphere as they lead small groups in guided faith discussions.
