Why LVR?

Prince of Peace Youth Connect invites you to join in a mission to make a difference in the lives of people who will attend Lutheran Valley Retreat (LVR). POPYC will be traveling to Colorado to participate in LVR’s servant week “Mountain Movers.”

Youth will spend the five days at LVR to help improve the camp for adults, campers, and volunteers. We will be helping maintain and update facilities, filling in ruts caused by flash flooding, and learning how to share the Gospel with fellow campers.

Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the other activities LVR has to offer including, horse back riding, hiking, climbing, archery, and much more! We will also have fun along the way visiting historic Manitou Springs!

About the Camp

Lutheran Valley Retreat has been involved in ministry for over 60 years. With 200+ acres in the rugged Rocky Mountain outback, Students will see a beauty unmatched throughout the country. Students will stay in rustic cabins with bunks near a shower house and bathrooms. The picturesque landscape provides a perfect backdrop for growing closer to our Savior through serving, singing, and studying God's Word.

During our five days of service, youth will have an opportunity to participate in the more advanced camp experiences. Youth and adults will go on a sunrise hike up Cedar Mountain, (Jeremiah’s favorite place on the planet), partake in challenge course, high ropes course, bouldering, rock climbing, and much more.

After our week at Lutheran Valley Retreat, our group will conclude the mission trip with an relaxing afternoon in Manitou Springs, which will be the trip’s “touristy” stop. Youth will be able to pick up Colorado souvenirs, purchase snacks, and play in the historic penny arcade.
