Uncomfortable Commitment

Holding fast to a confession when the world calls you a fool is – uncomfortable. Stirring up one another to love and good works means someone might push my buttons. That is – uncomfortable. Wouldn’t it be better to just avoid it all together? More and more people say, “I love Jesus but not the Church.” That’s like saying, “I like you, but your wife is ugly.” Jesus is the head of His Church. We cannot have a relationship with the head without the body. New Testament Reading: Hebrews 10: 19-25

From Series: "Uncomfortable"

CHRISTIAN LIFE IS UNCOMFORTABLE American culture is a culture of comfort. It’s being sold to us everywhere we look. We’re encouraged to do what we want, when we want, with whomever we want. If something is uncomfortable, we want to avoid it at all costs. The Christian faith, though, is just that: uncomfortable. It is when we are uncomfortable that The Comforter (Holy Spirit) responds. For God has no need to comfort the comfortable. But the Lord delights in comforting the uncomfortable.
