Mr. Thorman attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and received his degree in Business Management in 1985. He worked for several years as an Operations Manager for a waste management company and then returned to school to obtain his teacher certification in 1990. Mr. Thorman began his teaching career in August, 1992 at Prince of Peace teaching the second grade. Mr. Thorman obtained his Masters of Education degree from the University of North Texas in 2002.
In August of 1995, Mr. Thorman began teaching 6th and 7th grade math, science and religion. He tries to make learning fun. He believes that getting children interested in a subject is the key to starting the learning process. Mr. Thorman also feels that a positive attitude goes a long way and encourages the “I Can” attitude versus the “I Can’t”. He currently teaches 7th and 8th grade regular and honors math classes.
Mr. Thorman and his wife, Julia, have four daughters. He is a member of the Teacher’s Education Association, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and Who’s Who of Americas Teachers. He and his family are active members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He coaches four Prince of Peace girls soccer teams.
