Louanne Grimes has taught in the public school system for more than 25 years while living in the Richardson/ Garland area. She has taught at Apollo JHS, in the Richardson ISD, and also at Sachse HS, in the Garland ISD.
Mrs. Grimes has taught various levels of Spanish and English the RISD and Spanish in the GISD. She was the English department chairperson as well as the foreign language chairperson at various times throughout her teaching career.
She graduated from Lake Highlands HS in the RISD, and received a B.A. degree in Spanish and English and an M.A. in Secondary Education with an all level reading certification from Texas A &M Commerce. Mrs. Grimes has also received other various training and teaching certifications, such as ESL certification and advance placement training.
Mrs. Grimes and her husband, John, have three daughters, Monica, Stephanie and Rachael and one granddaughter, Katie Beth, who is one years old. Monica is 24, Stephanie is 22, and Rachael is 18. Monica is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Stephanie is a graduate of the University of Texas. Rachael has just graduated from JJ Pearce HS and will be attending Angelo State University on a softball scholarship in the fall.
Mrs. Grimes is very happy and excited to have the opportunity to teach Spanish at Prince of Peace and she looks forward to getting to share her enthusiasm for the Spanish language and the Hispanic culture.
