Dorothy attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood in 1971. She was honored with a listing in “Who’s Who of Colleges and Universities.” Dorothy has taught preschool through fourth grade in Louisiana, Wyoming and California. Dorothy came to Prince of Peace in 1993, after teaching six years at St. John's Lutheran School in Bakersfield, CA.
Third grade covers a wide variety of subjects and Dorothy uses many different approaches to enthuse her students, help them become active thinkers, and lovers of literacy. She hopes to "plant seeds of faith" and "nurture growth through the love of Christ."
Dorothy publishes a weekly newsletter to keep the students and parents informed about spelling words, special projects, curriculum concepts and upcoming tests.
Dorothy and her husband, Carl, reside in Carrollton and have three children. Two daughters, who attended Prince of Peace Christian School, have graduated from the Texas A & M University system. Son, Morgan, is enrolled in the high school. Dorothy and Carl are active members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
