Ms. Hula studied and traveled for a semester in the picturesque setting of Costa Rica. It was there that she became fluent in Spanish and fell in love with Latin America. She recently attained her AP Board certification in Spanish Language through Rice University. Ms. Hula is a member of the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages.
She has taught Spanish 1-3 at Prince of Peace for three years and added AP Spanish Language last year. Ms. Hula now teaches Spanish 1 and AP Spanish Language. Ms. Hula's goal for her students is to equip them with the cross-cultural communication skills essential in today’s global workforce. In the process she hopes to inspire a love of travel and diversity. This will further enable her students to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to “all nations”, as commanded in Matthew 28.
Ms. Hula was raised in the Lutheran Church, and has lived in Arizona, Florida, Arkansas, Indiana, Alaska, Costa Rica, Peru and Wisconsin. She has made Texas her new home with the help of everyone in the Prince of Peace community. Ms. Hula is a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She volunteers with a local literacy organization that offers English instruction to newly immigrated families. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching good foreign films, hiking, and traveling. She is looking forward to leading a group of 20+ students through Spain, France and Italy in June 2008!
