Prince of Peace Christian School’s Athletic Program

History

In the fall of 1980, in response to the needs of the Carrollton community as determined with a special survey, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church established a Pre-School program with 24 students enrolled.  Just two years later, again in response to the parents and people in the community, a Kindergarten program was established.  That was in the fall of 1982.  To continue serving these families and others, first through sixth grades were added in the following years.

The school quickly gained a reputation for a high quality academic program in a caring, nurturing, safe environment.  In the fall of 1991 a second section of first grade was added. A second section of each grade was added in succeeding years.  In order to satisfy the demand for a middle school, seventh grade was established in the fall of 1995 with eighth grade added the following year.

After several years of prayer and planning, the church and school moved into a spacious facility at 4000 North Midway in time for the 1996-97 school year.  With the additional space available in the new facility, a third section of first grade was established, and an additional section of each succeeding grade was added until we now have three sections of all grades through eighth grade.

Many of our parents, and some other members of the community, had been asking us to establish a high school.  In response to those requests, we added our first section of ninth grade for the beginning of the 2001-02 school year

D MagazineIn the November, 2002 issue of “D” magazine, Prince of Peace High School was ranked 13th among the private schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. On November 8, 2002, the high school received full state and national accreditation from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  On May 27, 2005, 14 seniors became the first graduating class of Prince of Peace High School.

The 2004-05 school year will be remembered for years to come.  Not only was this the year of our first high school graduating class, this was also the year that Prince of Peace Christian School was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education.  This honor was given to less than one-half of 1% of all the non-public schools in the nation.
Early Learning Center

Prince of Peace Christian School introduced an Early Learning Center in August 2008. This program is devoted to the developmental needs of children from six weeks – two years old.  Children are prepared with the tools necessary to allow for a seamless transition into Prince of Peace Christian School, which serves Preschool 3 – Grade 12.

The student enrollment for the 2008/2009 school year is over 900 students. God has richly blessed the efforts of so many people; our students, families, staff, and community.  Prince of Peace Christian School is a place to belong, a place to grow, and a place to become.
