While the June 2008 Kenya Mission Trip was cancelled due to violence after the disputed presidential election a group of three missionaries went to Kenya in April for 2 weeks. It was a time of encouragement and debriefing as people shared their stories of the violence in their city of Kisumu, Kenya. We also were able to see the continuation of the church construction that was halted during the last few months. The church in Obunga, a slum area of Kisumu, Kenya will be two levels with room for Sunday School classrooms or even a Christian School in the future. The water kiosk is up and running well providing two church-members with a job and providing water for the community.
A trip to Kenya during the end of December and the beginning of January is in process. Please check back for more details or contact Beth Daugherty.

As of Summer 2005, Prince of Peace officially began a church in the Obunga slum area of Kisumu, Kenya called Prince of Peace Church Kenya. We are in the process of building a church and clinic facility in the middle of the city. Pastor Tobias Omollo of POP Kenya has been keeping us informed of the progress, and will do so on a regular basis.
