Marriage and Family Life Ministry Involves…

The whole person (heart, soul, and strength) and all of life (morning and evening and everything in between).  We include the three aspects of TRAINING, FELLOWSHIP, AND SERVICE because we believe that our Marriage and Family Life Ministry must involve all of our relationships and experiences as we live as believers in Jesus Christ  and seek to carry out His will in daily life.

TRAINING...
The purpose of this aspect of Marriage and Family Life is to train and equip children, youth, engaged and married couples, parents and grandparents that supports and enhances the God-given roles in marriage and family relationships.

This training and equipping can take place in the following ways:

• Sunday Morning Classes
• Weekday Sessions
• Retreats
• Workshops
• Conferences
• Speakers
• Small Discussion Groups
• Reading of books and articles
• Encounter Groups
• Marriage and Family Makeovers
• Encounter and Enrichment Events
• Video and CD’s

FELLOWSHIP…
The purpose of this aspect of Marriage and Family Life is to provide opportunity for families to have fellowship experiences that provide enjoyment, fun and healthy relationships.

These fellowship opportunities can take place in the following places:

HOME

• Family discussions and devotions
• Vacations
• Family Reunions
• Sports Events
• Anything that families do together
• Eating together at home or eating out

CHURCH

• Church Suppers
• Talent Night
• Musicals
• Theater Presentations
• Sports Events
• Picnics
• Worship
• Anything that Christian families do together

COMMUNITY

• Community Celebrations
• Sports Events
• Any family-orientated event

SERVICE…
The purpose of this aspect of Marriage and Family Life is to initiate and promote service projects that provide the opportunities for families to make a difference in the lives of people within the congregation, local and foreign communities.

Involving families in service related projects can take place in some of the following ways:

• Individual Family Projects
• Service Projects in the community
• Service Projects sponsored by a local congregation
• Mission Trips
• Impact Groups!
• School Community Service Projects
• Mission Projects within the Lutheran Church
